Sobre o evento

In this 3rd Meeting of Organizations we will continue to jointly develop the first community sponsorship strategy for refugees in Portugal. This time, we will focus on preparing for autonomy after the sponsorship period. We will also revisit the work done in previous meetings, reporting on the progress achieved so far.

The number of people forcibly displaced has reached a new record of 100 million worldwide. Community sponsorship of refugees is a solid and lasting solution to the humanitarian crisis we are experiencing, being established as the most holistic and sustainable way to welcome and integrate refugees, with benefits for all involved, contributing to more efficient inclusion and closer-knit communities and resilient.

The CPR, through ComUnidade, intends to develop and support the implementation of this strategy in Portugal. Community sponsorship follows an approachwhole-of-society, with the contributions and commitment of civil society, promoting partnerships between a wide range of entities for a collective impact. The nature of community sponsorship requires collaboration and cooperation across sectors, as well as with local communities, who can better understand and address the challenges of refugee inclusion. Therefore, we would like to count on everyone's participation and collaboration in this process of building the first community sponsorship program for refugees in Portugal.
